Good condition, commensurate with the age, as per the photos. Presents well. Dated & Stamped F Lassetter & Co, 11th July 1883. F Lassetter was a maker of metalware and by the turn of the 20th Century, was the biggest retailer in Sydney. The business was founded in 1820 and was sold to the Sydney retailer, Anthony Hordern & Sons in 1926. Quite a rear find. The base is heavy brass and the hood is copper which reflect some of the light from the candle to create a lamp effect. The candle is self adjusting with a spring in the shaft of the lamp.
