Recreated by NeedleWorkPress for The Crewel Gobelin 2019 Stitch-A-Long.
"When Janet Rae stitched her sampler in the nineteenth century, she never could have suspected that her humble woolwork effort would be the inspiration for a twenty-first-century international stitch along. Fortunately for us, technology facilitates this collaborative effort bringing Janet's legacy to life for present-day needlework enthusiasts.
Likely Scottish, Janet's sampler blends a colourful alphabet with playful motifs and family initials. With so many fabric and fibre options, today's stitcher can adapt the project in a variety of ways.
The stitch count is 163W x 265H
Stitches: Cross Stitch, Algerian Eye, Diagonal Satin Stitch and Queen Stitch.
Our model sampler has been stitched on 28 count R&R French Roast linen with one strand of Gentle Art Simply Wool over two threads of linen.

We have thread packs available in the GAST Simply Wool, Gentle Art Sampler Threads and DMC stranded cotton.A silk conversion is available, please contact us directly for details.
