Description
Of all the known Juda Hayle school samplers, Mary Moyse's is one of the most colorful, challenging, distinctive, and lovely. It is worked on a much finer linen than the three Juda Hayle samplers, and requires the use of more advanced stitches (see below).

The trademark square cartouche at the bottom, and the learning verse appear on all Hayle school samplers.

Origin and date: England, 1709
Linen count and finished size: 40-count, 6-1/2"x17-1/2"
Stitches: Cross, counted satin, double running, eyelet, buttonhole, and detached buttonhole, worked over one, two, and three threads on 40-count linen
Source: The Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge, England

It is recommended for more advanced needleworkers.
