Hi Glen, no the starter kit comes with a flat blotter sheet for painting the Crinoline Lady on non-woven material rather than the oval hoop. You can buy the oval hoop separately for $16.50 Item no.1608. This is good for stretching a t-shirt so the fabric is held taut to make it easier to paint. Regards Jenny

Hi, yes it does. Here is a snippet from our Complete Guide to Hobbyex - rub china lightly with sandpaper over the area to be painted. Dot paint on with a paint brush using paint with just a dash of Tip Cleaner or you can use a dotting up and down movement with the actual ball-point tube. Designs may be transferred by using carbon paper. When finished the paint should be baked in the oven. Place in a COLD oven and turn heat to 120C (250F). Bake in oven for 20 mins and then turn off heat and allow to cool in oven. Hope this helps you. Regards Jenny

Hi Paul, yes we have lots of kits available. It depends what kind of things your mum will like painting. There are hundreds of non-woven pictures and lots of lovely linens like placemats, cloths, tote bags and cushion covers. These linen items can use a hoop to hold the fabric in place whilst painting. The pictures only need a flat Blotter Sheet underneath. The Starter Kit has a non-woven duchess set included which doesn't use a hoop as its like a picture, so we've included the Blotter Sheet in the kit.
