Summer Season

Travel in comfort and style, with stunning Alpine scenery. This high speed service is simply the best way to travel between France and Italy.

Winter Ski Season

During the winter months, the TGV France Italy service is ideal for skiers and snowboarders as the service runs through the Alps stopping at the Italian resorts of Bardonnechia and Sestriere/Oulx. The latter resorts are part of the extensive Milky Way ski area, made up of more than 400kms of piste straddling the Franco-Italian border.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • 3 return journeys daily.
  • 6 stations in Italy: Milano Porta Garibaldi, Novara, Vercelli, Torino Porta Susa, Oulx/Sestriere and Bardonecchia.
  • 8 stations in France: Mâcon, Bourg-en-Bresse, Aix-les-Bains, Modane, St. Jean de Maurienne, Chambéry, Lyon St. Exupéry, Paris Gare de Lyon.
  • Inclusion of an additional stop in Lyon St-Exupéry. This station will be served by 5 or 6 TGV trains per day. The inclusion of additional stops means it’s now possible to make a return journey between Lyon and Turin on the same day.

These TGV services arrive in the heart of Milan’s new district, just 2 metro stops away from Milan Central station.

MAXIMUM COMFORT

All of the TGV carriages operating between France and Italy were designed by Christian Lacroix. Each train consists of 8 carriages from 1 to 8 (three 1st class carriages, four 2nd class carriages and one bar-buffet which is situated in the middle of the train and can be accessed by all passengers).

Passengers who travel in 1st class have power sockets at their seats. Smoking is not permitted on TGV France-Italy trains.

Family Space

The Family space, situated in 2nd class, consists of four seats facing each other and these are separated from the rest of the carriage by a glass screen. The positions of the seats and central table can be adjusted to give more space. A nursery area equipped with a changing table is located close to the Family Space at the far end of coach 7.

Wheelchair access

A dedicated space comprising of 3 spaces reserved for wheelchair-bound passengers and 3 seats for those accompanying them is situated in coach 1.

Office area

Two office areas are situated in 2nd class, in the space between carriages 6 and 7. These areas, accessible without reservation, are perfect if two or three people travelling together wish to hold a meeting or use their mobile phones in private.

CATERING

  • Meal served at seat in 1st class : this service is not included in the price of the ticket/ reservations are taken by catering staff on board the train.
  • Trolly service : available in 1st and 2nd class.
  • Bar-buffet : located in coach 4.

ON-BOARD SERVICES

  • Luggage: Passengers are permitted to take 2 suitcases and one piece of hand luggage on the train with them.
  • Bicycles: There’s no need to pre-book when taking a bicycle on board however bikes must be dismantled and carried in a bike carrying case, measuring no more than 1,20m x 0,90m.
  • Domestic animals: Animals that weigh less than 6kg and that can be transported in a pet carrier travel for free. A ticket must be purchased if the animal weighs more than 6kg.

Train composition: All TGV France-Italy trains are newly renovated by the designer Christian Lacroix.

Each trains has 8 carriages, of which 3 are First class, 4 are Standard class and 1 is the bar buffet carriage.

Accommodation: First and Standard class seats.

First class:

  • Seating types available: Solo seats or spaces for 2-4 passengers.
  • Comfortable seats with headrest and footrest.
  • Power sockets at every seat.
  • Meals at seat can be purchased on all TGV France - Italy services.
  • Meals can only be booked on the train at the time of travel.

Standard class:

  • Seating types available: Spaces for 4 passengers or side by side.
  • Comfortable seats with headrest and footrest.

Catering: Bar buffet situated in coach 4 offering hot & cold meals, beverages and snacks.

Trolley service in First and Standard class (sandwiches, chocolate bars, hot/cold drinks and snacks)

Disabled Facilities: Disabled area is situated in First class in carriage 1.

Total of 3 disabled spaces and 3 Companion seats.

Disabled toilet located next to Wheelchair space.

Manual and electric wheelchairs are accepted on board provided their dimensions do not exceed 125x75cm.

Smoking: Trains are entirely non-smoking.

Luggage: 2 bags/suitcases per passenger plus 1 piece of hand luggage.

Bicycles: Bicycles may be carried free of charge in a bike bag whose dimensions do not exceed 120x90cm.

This counts as one piece of luggage

Domestic Animals: Domestic animals are permitted onboard provided other passengers do not object.

Dogs must be muzzled and on a lead.

Small domestic animals must be carried in a pet carrier (with dimensions no greater than 45x30x25cm and no heavier than 6kg).

Guide dogs travel for free and do not require a ticket.

Maximum of 2 dogs or 2 pet carriers or 1 dog and 1 pet carrier per passenger.

Family space and nursery: There are 4 Family Spaces and a nursery in Standard class.

The family seating area consists of 4 seats around a foldable table.

The nursery area is located within close proximity of the Family spaces, in carriage 7.

Toilets and baby changing facilities: Baby changing facilities (changing table, bottle warmer, washbasin) are at the end of coach 7.

Toilets are located at the end of each carriage.

All trains have both ladies and gentlemen's toilets.

Office spaces: Two Office spaces are available in carriages 6 and 7 in Standard class.

This space cannot be reserved prior to departure, it is available on a first come, first serve basis.
